El Congrés de l’Anglo-Catalan Society d’enguany tindrà lloc a la Universitat de Birmingham, Regne Unit.

L’Anglo-Catalan Society va ser fundada el 1954 a Oxford i té com a objectiu promoure l’estudi i el reconeixement de la cultura catalana a les Illes Britàniques, així com fomentar les relacions culturals entre les dues comunitats. Si bé actua com un fòrum professional per a les persones implicades en els estudis catalans, l’associació està oberta a totes les persones que en comparteixen els objectius fonamentals.

Anualment organitza un col·loqui que se celebra sense interrupció des de la seva fundació i que abasta una àmplia diversitat de temes (lingüístic, històric, literari, sociològic, musical, etc.), en què el comú denominador és la dimensió catalana, incloent-hi València, les Illes Balears i la Catalunya del Nord.
