El 17è Col·loqui Internacional de la North American Catalan Society tindrà lloc a la Universitat de Chicago del 25 al 27 d’abril del 2019.

Teniu temps fins al proper 1 d’octubre per fer propostes de comunicacions.

CATALAN STUDIES: THE AESTHETICS AND POLITICS OF CONFLICT

You are invited to submit paper abstracts or panel proposals on any topic relating to Catalan literature, culture or language. We also welcome proposals for papers and panels focusing on the Colloquium special theme, Catalan Studies: The Aesthetics and Politics of Conflict, and with particular attention to these issues:

• The present and future of Catalonia
• Global and local demands on cultural production
• Politics, gender, identities
• Networks and social media
• Architecture and visual arts
• Borders, exile, displacement and diaspora
• The Americas in/and Catalonia
• The cultures of gastronomy
• Music and performance
• Translation

Papers may be in Catalan or English.

Maximum length: 20 minutes.
