The Theatre of Lluïsa Cunillé

This season (2017-18), the National Theatre of Catalonia will be presenting three productions of the work of Lluïsa Cunillé. To coincide with this exceptional programme, the Centre for Catalan Studies at Queen Mary presents an evening dedicated to Cunillé with two events: a seminar with the director of the National Theatre of Catalonia, Xavier Albertí, and playwright and theatre director Jordi Prat i Coll; and a performance of Cunillé’s play “Iceland” (UK Premiere, work in progress), translated from Catalan by John London, performed by PartSustpended(www.partsuspended.com) and directed by Hari Marini.

All this to celebrate the drama of one of the best known and most distinctive playwrights to have emerged out of Barcelona in the last twenty years.

With the participation of directors, critics and translators.

In collaboration with the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the Institut Ramon Llull, and PartSuspended.
